Socket Bayonet for SwedishM/1815 Musket +
After the last Russian-Swedish war (February 1808 – September 1809), the Swedish militarty was in need for new weapons. First out was the French inspired M/1811 musket, which with small changes was basis for the smoothbore flintlock musket M/1815. The M/1815 musket was widely used, and was later modified to several different change models. The musket was used for many years and the latest changes came in 1849.
The socket bayonet M/1815 was used for the original M/1815 bayonet and with the following change models: M/1815-20, M/1815-38, M/1815-45, M/1815-49 and M/1815 carbine caliber. The bayonets was produced with the following factories Carl Gustaf Stad, Husqvarna and Norrtälje.

The bayonet got a basal locking ring and got a fuller form the top of the blade running all the way to the point .
M/1815-49 with M/1815 bayonet
Swedish M/1815-38-49 musket with M/1815 bayonet. The pictured musket has been through a number of changes, and was designated M/1815-38-49 when it was in military service. In 1838 the sight was improved and in 1849 it was changed from flint lock to percussion.
